Australian War Memorial: Poppy’s Cafe

CANBERRA | ACT

Poppy’s Café, renamed to honour trooper ‘David [Poppy] Pearce’, transformed a café into a destination through re-branding and considered design. The introduction of specific elements sympathetic to the space, evident through imagery, furniture, joinery and audio-visual mediums, provides visitors with a new respectful and informative environment.

Poppy’s Café is an interpretation of the recreational centre at Camp Holland in Tarin Kwot, Afghanistan, and in parts, is a continuation of the collections in the main building.
