Winery

The Winery combines production, cellar door, and hospitality within one complex. The form simultaneously sinks into and emerges from the earth, protruding out with three large rectangular volumes wrapped in perforated corten steel. Each of the volumes is orientated towards a prominent view corridor overlooking the vineyard, where people can dine and experience the process of wine making. A carved rock wall guides patrons from the arrival points and into a courtyard sheltered by a cantilevered event space, which designates the entry on the ground floor. Throughout the building, punctures in the roof form allow light to seep into the deepest parts, including the cellar door and production equipment submerged within the rock.
